While quarantined with multiple closures/shutdowns from many different businesses and organizations, interviewing a Full Sail alumni student seemed appropriate and interesting.  Tabaris Lemons, age 21, graduated from Full Sail in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in film production.  During the interview, we uncovered his experiences, what he liked about the university, his career path after graduation as well as advice to others trying to pursue obtaining a degree.

Tabaris obtained a degree in film and is currently a Lead Audio Visual Technician. He feels as though Full Sail has completely prepared him for this career path.  He states “my education at Full Sail helped me land this job...so many aspects that I learned from the film degree I bought over to the AV (audio visual) field.”

Tabaris also advises others who would want to pursue their career at Full Sail to definitely do so because he says that he had such a wonderful experience himself.  He also states to do your research on the degree program of your interest because it can be very intense and vigorous.  He stresses the importance of making sure you know that getting that degree at Full Sail is what you want to do, but in the long run – you won’t regret it.

Ultimately, interviewing Tabaris gave a different insight on the overall college experience.  It can also provide hope to others who want to know if their degree will carry on into their professional lives and prepare them for their future careers.  It is important to uplift one another and offer advice in regards to education because it can be a very tough road that can seldom lead to uncertainty.  There are even some students that dropout due to these uncertainties.  According to educationdata.org, college for most is a rite of passage, as in a way to successfully enter the job market and begin a career.  However, encouraging words from peers can eliminate some of the stress and anxiety that comes with college altogether.
